Fresh, New Updates to Google Workspace

A few weeks back Google announced a couple new updates for its Workspace platform. These updates mostly pertained to internal integrations between Google's offerings. The arguably most exciting announcement was Google’s “opening” of their workspace platform to integrations with third party applications.

Google’s new APIs that will enable developers to better integrate Meet and Chats in other (outside) applications. These new APIs should empower developers to better include Google’s offerings into other outside applications, and the new Meet SDK will help bring the other outside applications into Google.

This along with Google’s new AppSheet, which provides a low code tool to build integrations, should help open the doors to Google Workspace allowing companies to seamlessly integrate the platform into their pre-existing ecosystem.

Why this matters

Google is making moves opening the door to new integrations and partnerships to expand their increasingly impressive and competitive Workspace platform. While the core Workspace applications is very capable on its own, (you can see how it stacks up against the competition at Clearfind.com) the addition of these new integrations should help bridge the gaps where Google has been lacking.

Further, these integrations make the platform much more attractive as it helps companies more seamlessly adopt Google Workspace into their existing software ecosystems. We don't expect to see these new capabilities truly come into play until early 2023, but are nonetheless extremely excited to see what integrations and developers are able to come up with.

At Clearfind, we know Technology leaders are asked to be almost omniscient about software. So, we’ve built a platform that makes you an expert on every software product you have (or want). It notifies you of consolidation opportunities, product swap opportunities, smart renewals, and product risks. It allows you to search for a shortlist of products in the market by the features and integrations you are looking for. Or you can just type in a product name and see how it compares with what you already have.
